• بدنه (بیسکوئیت): ترکیبی از خاک رس، کائولن و کوارتز که در دمای حدود ۱۰۰۰ درجه پخته شده است.
• لعاب: لایه‌ای شیشه‌ای روی کاشی است که از پودر سیلیس، اکسیدهای فلزی (برای ایجاد رنگ) و گدازآورها تشکیل شده.
• رنگ لاجوردی: از اکسید کبالت.
• رنگ زرد: از اکسید آهن یا آنتیموان.
• رنگ فیروزه‌ای: از اکسید مس.
• ویژگی‌های بارز:
• ثبات رنگ: به دلیل پخته شدن رنگ در کوره، این کاشی‌ها در برابر نور خورشید و اشعه UV هرگز تغییر رنگ نمی‌دهند.
• مقاومت شیمیایی: لعاب رویی در برابر شوینده‌های معمولی مقاوم است اما به دلیل وجود بندکشی‌های زیاد، نباید در معرض اسیدهای قوی قرار گیرد.
• عایق رطوبتی: لعاب شیشه‌ای مانع نفوذ آب به بدنه سفالی می‌شود.

  Turquoise color: From copper oxide.

  Chemical resistance: The top glaze is resistant to common detergents, but due to the presence of many binders, it should not be exposed to strong acids.
